Everything You Need to Know About Right at Home's Discovery Day

There are quite a few steps on the journey to launching your own Right at Home franchise, from the moment you make the decision to serve your community to the day you open your doors to that first client. One of the most important steps in that journey is Discovery Day. This is our first real opportunity to meet each other face to face.

Discovery Day is a one-day event built for prospective franchise owners – a full day of Zoom sessions with Right at Home leaders, coaches, and franchisees – where you can ask questions, share your own story, and ultimately decide if ownership is right for you.

Though Discovery Day will come early in the process, it’s an incredibly valuable experience. There’s so much that you can learn on Discovery Day, and so much that you’ll need to think about before you sign on the dotted line. That’s why it’s important to show up prepared. This isn’t the typical orientation.

But what makes Discovery Day so special, and what can you do to be sure you’re getting the most out of your experience?

What is Discovery Day?

Becoming a franchise owner with Right at Home is kind of a big deal!

It’s equal parts demanding and rewarding. If this is really something you think you want to do, you’ll need to go well beyond online research. You need to understand what really goes into building a successful homecare business. You need a true sense of the culture you’re about to join. And you need to be absolutely certain that this is the right journey for you.

Discovery Day is an important milestone on this journey, a checkpoint before you take the big leap.

The format of Discovery Day is pretty straightforward:

  • The event always takes place on a Friday, from 9AM to 3PM (CT).
  • Sessions are broken down into 30-45 minute blocks with breaks in between.
  • Meetings are conducted over Zoom.

On most Discovery Days, we’ll host multiple attendees. But we also provide opportunities for you to speak with our leaders and team members one-on-one.

What is the Goal of Discovery Day?

We want you to be able to ask all of your questions. We want you to get to know us better, and we want to get to know you better as well. We want to make sure you understand what Right at Home is all about. And we want to get a deeper understanding of exactly what brings you to the threshold of franchise ownership.

That’s the real goal of Discovery Day. We want to be sure this is a good fit for everybody involved. By the time the day is over, you should have a clear sense of whether or not you’d like to sign a Franchise Agreement with Right at Home.

So there’s a lot we hope to accomplish in the hours we have together.

For Prospective Franchise Owners

On Discovery Day, your top priority is to determine whether or not Right at Home franchise ownership aligns with your personal and professional goals. You also need to understand exactly what the day-to-day life of a franchise owner looks like.

On Discovery Day, you’ll get a greater sense of those day-to-day responsibilities. You’ll also get a closer look at the unique culture at Right at Home, get to know the leadership team, and get a stronger sense of exactly how the franchise system supports owners at every stage of growth.

For Right at Home

This is a chance for us to learn about the motivation that brings you to Right at Home and the goals you hope to achieve with us. That gives us an opportunity to work together to determine if you might be a good match for the franchise system.

We value the independence and ingenuity of our franchise owners, but we have also worked hard to refine the formula for success in this business. Ultimately, we like to come away from Discovery Day knowing that prospective franchisees share similar expectations regarding business ownership and growth.

Preparing for Discovery Day

So how can we be sure that we achieve everything we’ve set out to on Discovery Day? It starts by showing up ready. Before you can get the most out of our sessions together, you’ll need to do a little homework.

Don’t worry. We’ll send you everything you need well ahead of time. But it’s up to you to really dive in. Here are a few items you’ll want to check off your to-do list before we meet up on Discovery Day.

  • Review the introductory materials that we’ve sent you, get to know the Right at Home business model, and jot down any questions you have.
  • Be sure you’ve read and understand all the terms of the Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD).
  • Take time to fully understand the financial requirements and investment expectations that come with franchise ownership, and be sure you’re in a financial position to become a franchisee.
  • Reflect on your personal and business goals, and carefully consider what you hope to achieve with Right at Home.
  • Get all your homework done, and you’ll be in a great position to really enjoy Discovery Day.

How to Get the Most Out of Your Experience

So you’ve checked everything off your list, and the big day is here. Now make sure you capitalize on the time we spend together. Take notes, ask questions, and be open and honest about your goals.

And most importantly, show up curious. We’re all here to learn.
