1851Franchise: How Right at Home Supports Veterans and Strengthens Communities

Right at Home demonstrates its dedication to veterans by offering home care services, partnering with veteran-focused organizations, and providing franchise fee discounts through VetFran.

Right at Home is deeply committed to supporting veterans across the United States. Through partnerships with organizations like the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and VetFran, as well as unique community initiatives, the company demonstrates its dedication to improving the lives of veterans and their families.

Vice President of Franchise Development Jen Chaney and Senior Director of Government Affairs Doug Robertson recently spoke with 1851 Franchise to share insights into Right at Home’s efforts to give back to those who have served our country.

Providing Essential Care Through VA Partnerships

Many Right at Home franchise owners partner with the VA to provide essential home care services for veterans. While not all franchisees participate, those who do play a critical role in ensuring veterans receive the care they need.

“We have several franchise owners who provide services to veterans through the VA,” said Chaney. “When veterans need home care, they can reach out to their local Right at Home provider to partner with them and provide care for those in need.”

These partnerships offer an avenue for franchisees to make a meaningful impact in their communities while helping veterans maintain independence and dignity as they age. Right at Home’s collaboration with the VA also helps to strengthen relationships between local franchises and veteran clients, fostering a sense of trust and support.

“We provide care to veterans, and veterans really appreciate getting care from veterans,” said Robertson. “And veterans often take great satisfaction in providing care to fellow veterans because of that shared experience.”

Supporting Veterans Through Donations and Volunteerism

In addition to offering care services, Right at Home makes donations to veteran-focused organizations and participates in volunteer initiatives. For example, earlier this year during their annual conference, the company partnered with a Kansas City-based organization that helps veterans transition from active duty to civilian life.

Additionally, during Right at Home’s annual conference, franchisees volunteered to pack boxes filled with food and essential items for veterans.

“We’re always taking advantage of any opportunity to partner and help veterans because it is a very big part of our business and something very meaningful to us,” said Chaney. “So we’ll help out in any way that we can.”

VetFran Partnership: A Special Discount for Veteran Franchisees

Right at Home also honors veterans through its long-standing partnership with VetFran, which offers a 25% discount on franchise fees to veterans who want to become franchise owners. This discount serves as a meaningful “thank you” for their service and helps ease the financial commitment required to start a new business.

“The discount that we do offer really means a lot to them,” said Chaney. “Oftentimes, it’s an added benefit that they didn’t know about, and we get to give them that news. It’s something that we have loved, and we continue to award that benefits several veterans throughout our system.”

Right at Home’s five-star rating with VetFran helps attract veteran franchisees, many of whom discover the franchise through VetFran’s website. Others are delighted to learn of the discount after inquiring.

A Community of Support for Veterans

By building partnerships with organizations that support veterans and offering tangible benefits to veteran franchisees, Right at Home is more than just a care provider — it is a community that values and honors those who have served. The company’s efforts reflect a commitment to helping veterans build new careers as franchise owners, receive essential home care services, and find support as they transition into civilian life.

As Right at Home continues to grow, the company remains steadfast in its dedication to its initiatives, knowing they not only benefit veterans but also enrich the communities its franchisees serve.
