Right at Home Partners with Local Nonprofit to Paint Houses
This is the fourth year that Right at Home has partnered with Project Houseworks to paint seniors’ houses around the community.
When it comes to home repairs, it can be difficult to do it yourself, especially if you’re older or have disabilities.
And those services can come with a hefty price tag.
Project Houseworks is a local nonprofit that helps make comfortable homes a reality.
“This home is one of 25 in the metro area that will be seeing a facelift this weekend, thanks to Project Houseworks and Right at Home,” said Bonnie Donnelly, meeting and event manager for Right at Home.
Right at Home provides home care and assistance to older adults and adults with disabilities so they can remain in their homes.
This is their fourth year of partnering with Project Houseworks to paint houses around the community.
They partner with the homeowner to give the home a new look and give them another reason to love their house.
Right at Home is grateful to have a service opportunity that aligns so well with their mission, to “improve the quality of life for those we serve,” and they say interacting with the homeowners makes it all worth it.
“It’s so awesome to see the homeowners and their reaction at the end of it? They’re always so grateful. They’re so amazing to work with. We work really hard, and they’re always so grateful for it. And their face at the end of it makes a really hot, hard-working day worth all of it,” Donnelly said.
One homeowner at a freshly painted house said it is a blessing to have these types of programs for seniors in Omaha.
